Petra Dénes
accessory designer
Petra is mostly inspired by experimenting with materials and sustainability plays a very important role in her work. Her main focus is on leather, but she also pays special attention to the creation and use of innovative, environmentally friendly materials. In 2019, she created an industrial collection from leather waste and biopolymer composite for the Kozma Lajos Scholarship, and four years later she won the Moholy-Nagy Design Scholarship for the second time. This allowed her to develop a method and technique to reduce the amount of waste from her tailoring. She was influenced by the wabi-sabi philosophy, which encourages us to accept mistakes and turn them into value.
“With added intellectual value and precision workmanship, even simple materials can be transformed into high quality.”
