Márta Edőcs
glass and jewelry designer
With her work, Márta Edőcs captures moods, memories, feelings, worries, and moments. Her objects are about silence, introspection, and concentration, designed to resonate with the space, to radiate harmony, and perhaps to make the viewer think. As a glass designer, she made her first piece of jewellery for herself and then became increasingly interested in creating in another dimension. In most of her jewellery, glass is complemented by silver, but she sometimes uses other materials. She is more interested in the form, the story, and the message inside the object than the shiny surface. So she often mattes the surface of glass by engraving or polishing, and she likes to leave her file marks on silver. She is interested in sizes and shapes that can still be worn as jewellery. She thinks of these pieces as wearable art objects that carry her personal story, but also allow the wearer to develop a personal connection with them.
